The Water and Sewerage Authority (WASA) is expected to complete repairs to a 42-inch transmission pipeline in the vicinity of Tattoo Trace in Valencia by midnight on Sunday.
On Friday, WASA said a leak was discovered on the 42-inch pipeline, which appeared to have resulted from erosion and land slippage.
Senior Manager of Corporate Communications at WASA, Daniel Plenty, told TTT News the Authority has mobilised all equipment and materials to begin repairs from 6pm today.
Customers located in Sangre Grande and environs, La Horquetta, Carapo, Maloney Gardens, Bon Air West and Oropune Gardens are expected to be affected.
Mr. Plenty said operations at the North Oropouche Water Treatment Plant are expected to resume after the repairs, adding that affected customers should have a supply of water early Monday morning.
He reminded customers, however, that it may take 24-36 hours for the normal schedules to be restored and normalised.
Mr. Plenty confirmed that a truck-borne water service will be available to customers over the course of the disruption, and beyond.
