Local Public Defenders Receive Advanced Training

A group of United States Trial and Advocacy experts are in Trinidad to train Attorneys from the local Public Defenders’ Department.

The workshop aims to provide individualised and concrete training taught by experienced trial lawyers through the “learning by doing” National Institute of Trial Advocacy teaching methodology.

Minister in the Office of the Attorney General, Renuka Sagramsingh-Sooklal, underscored the importance of public defenders to the population.

The Minister encouraged the public defenders participating in the workshop to work hard to get the most out of the event.

She also applauded the National Center for State Courts, the United States Embassy. and the Public Defenders Department for organising the event.
