The report reveals that COVID-19 economic recovery over the last few months is not yet fully reflected in the labour markets in our region, with employment lagging in comparison to pre-pandemic levels.
Lars Johansen, Deputy Director of the International Labour Office for the Caribbean, said the affected groups are made up of people in the informal or unregulated employment sector.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, all employment sectors have contracted, with informal employment facing more intense impacts.
