The Electoral District of Barataria, one of the 14 districts under the San Juan Laventille Regional Corporation which has been ruled by the People’s National Movement for some time, has changed hands on two occasions.
In 2010 and in the 2018 Bye-Elections, the United National Congress secured enough votes to win the district – and it would then be won again by the PNM in 2019.
As we continue to look at districts like the community of Barataria, we hear what some of the residents would like to see from their perspective Councillors.
