Matthews In ICC Rankings

West Indies Women’s captain Hayley Matthews has achieved a career milestone, rising to fifth in the ICC Women’s ODI Batting Rankings, following her match-winning performance in the first CG United ODI against Bangladesh. Matthews’ unbeaten 104, propelled her four spots to her highest-ever ranking.

Matthews wasn’t the only West Indian to make gains in the latest rankings update. Fellow batter Shemaine Campbelle climbed one place to 52nd, reflecting her consistency with the bat. Meanwhile, veteran leg-spinner Afy Fletcher moved up four spots to 28th in the Women’s Bowling Rankings, showcasing her prowess with the ball.

In the Men’s Test arena, left-arm spinner Jomel Warrican also reached a career-high in the ICC Rankings. Warrican’s maiden 10-wicket haul in the first Test versus Pakistan, saw him jump 12 places to claim 41st position in the Test Bowling Rankings. The spinner’s previous best was 50th.
