The Trinidad and Tobago Meteorological Service is predicting a slightly drier Dry Season than usual.
Acting Chief Climatologist Kenneth Kerr says the country can look forward to some hotter and more parched days ahead, with little rainfall.
On Thursday, the MET Office announced the start of the Dry Season, adding that February to April are expected to be the driest months of the season.
While we have been experiencing cold nights over the past few days, Mr. Kerr said the low temperatures are quite normal as it coincides with the winter season in our hemisphere.
In addition to the dry periods, Mr. Kerr says the heat can begin from late March into October and temperatures may get to 33 degrees on some days.
