TTO Sprinter Michelle-Lee Ahye advanced to this evening’s semi final of the women’s 100 metres at the 2022 IAAF World Athletics Championships in Oregon.
Running out of lane 4 in Heat Six, Ahye was second in 11.18 seconds.
USA’s Aleia Hobbs won the heat in 11.04, Bahrain’s Edidiong Odiong was third in 11.28 seconds.
Ahye is in Lane eight in semi-final Heat 3, alongside Hobbs and Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce.
Tonight’s semis begin at 8:49.
Also in Oregon quarter-miler Dwight St Hilaire posted a time of 46.60 in Heat 4 of the Men’s 400 metres but his sixth placed finish meant he did not advance to the semi -final round.
