The report on the tragic fire that took the lives of former Member of Parliament for D’Abadie/O’Meara Lisa Morris-Julian and two of her children is occupying the attention of the new Minister of National Security, Marvin Gonzales.
In response to questions from members of the media at the National Drug Council’s Panel Discussions and Award Ceremony, Minister Gonzales said he is perusing the document.
“That report is on my desk, and I am going through the contents of the report, and I plan to have, at the appropriate time, discussions with the Honourable Prime Minister with respect to letting the public know the contents of that report. So I am still in the process of digesting the contents of that report.”
The former Minister of Public Utilities took the helm at the National Security Ministry on Monday.
He noted that he will bring his style of management to his new portfolio.
“We are going to tackle it at the Divisional level, holding Divisional Managers to account. But whilst we do so, we will provide all of the resources that the police and the Divisional Commanders need to combat criminal activities in their respective Divisions.”
