The Ministry of National Security today welcomed its newly appointed Minister, Marvin Gonzales, as he assumed the helm in his office at Temple Court Building I, 31-33 Abercromby Street, Port of Spain.
Minister Gonzales was received by Minister in the Office of the Prime Minister and former Minister of National Security, Fitzgerald Hinds and Permanent Secretaries of the Ministry of National Security, Ms. Sandra Fraser and Acting Permanent Secretary Ms. Nataki Atiba-Dilchan, who provided him with a comprehensive briefing on the Ministry’s operations and strategic priorities.
Minister Gonzales also took the opportunity to thank the outgoing Minister of National Security for his dedicated service and leadership. He acknowledged Minister Hinds’ contributions to national security and expressed his appreciation for the foundation laid during his tenure.
In response, Minister Hinds extended his best wishes to Minister Gonzales in his new portfolio. He expressed confidence in Minister Gonzales’ ability to lead the Ministry effectively and to continue advancing national security efforts for the benefit of the nation.
Following the briefing, Minister Gonzales immediately got down to business, engaging with senior officials to discuss ongoing security initiatives and key policy matters. He expressed his commitment to strengthening national security, enhancing inter-agency collaboration, and ensuring the safety and well-being of all citizens of Trinidad and Tobago.
Minister Gonzales emphasised his dedication to tackling pressing security challenges and advancing initiatives that will improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the nation’s security apparatus.
The Minister also expressed his appreciation to the Ministry’s staff for their continued service and dedication to the Ministry and by extension this nation over the years.
The Ministry of National Security looks forward to working under Minister Gonzales’ leadership to enhance national security efforts and build a safer and more secure Trinidad and Tobago.
