The Minister of National Security has received the final investigative report into the fire at the home of former Member of Parliament and Minister in the Ministry of Education, Lisa Morris-Julian, on December 16th, 2024.
A three-member Committee, led by former Chief Fire Officer Mr. Roosevelt Bruce, was tasked with examining the events surrounding the fire that resulted in the deaths of Lisa Morris-Julian, her 25 year old daughter Xianne, and six year old son Jesiah, in addition to reviewing the performance of the Arima and Tunapuna Fire Stations, on the day of the incident.
The Committee’s mandate included a thorough review of the Fire Service’s response time, the availability of water resources, and an assessment of the arrival and departure logs, to ensure timely and adequate action was taken.
