Minister Scotland: Efforts To Combat Crime Will Continue After State Of Emergency

Minister in the Ministry of National Security Keith Scotland says although the State of Emergency will not continue, the Ministry plans to push back against the criminal element in society.

“There was a meeting of the National Security Council yesterday afternoon. What Trinidad and Tobago can look forward to is an increased police presence throughout Trinidad and Tobago along with all the organs of National Security to ensure safety. I will say to you that we are still not satisfied with the levels of crime in Trinidad and Tobago. I will be honest, but we intend not to bury our heads in the sand and to work assiduously to try and make Trinidad and Tobago a safer place.”

Minister Scotland spoke with members of the media after the launch of a Technology in Education Centre at the Desperadoes Pan Theatre on Tuesday.
