Standard Five students and those from Forms 1 to 3 are expected to attend physical classes from February 2022.
According to a release from the Ministry of Education, all other Primary School students, from Standards 1 to 4, will continue to operate remotely come January 2022. But as of April 2022, they will be expected to return to the physical classrooms on a rotational basis. ECCE students are also supposed to return to school in April.
Students from Forms 1-3 or equivalent will continue to engage in remote learning to allow the Ministry to plan for their return to the physical classroom in February, on a rotational basis.
Meanwhile, students from Forms 4 to 6 or equivalent will attend school physically for teaching, practicals and School-Based Assessments from January 3rd.
Post-Secondary and Tertiary students will be alowed to attend classes in person for teaching and practicals from January 2022.
Standard 5 students will sit the Secondary Entrance Assessment (SEA) to be held on March 31st next year.
The Ministry said delaying the exam, as was done in the previous years, resulted in challenges in administering the CXC and SEA exams concurrently.
