Health Minister Terrence Deyalsingh believes a recent tweet from rap star Nicki Minaj has made their job even more difficult, as they continue to urge the population to get vaccinated.
On Monday, Minaj claimed that someone from Trinidad reportedly took the vaccine and became impotent.
The viral tweet was denounced by health officials in the United States, including leading infectious disease expert, Dr. Anthony Fauci.
Minister Deyalsingh says officials took the claim seriously in an attempt to locate the person in Trinidad that would’ve experience such a side effect. However, he says they may have “wasted” their time since the claim could not be verified.
Minister Deyalsingh says health officials were investigating this claim for most of Tuesday and says this is why the Ministry did not issue an immediate response.
