MOH Places Order For Paediatric COVID-19 Vaccine

The Ministry of Health has already placed an order for the paediatric version of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine and will get supplies once it is approved by for use by the World Health Organization (WHO).

Health Minister Terrence Deyalsingh said if approved, the paediatric version will be different to the current stock of Pfizer COVID-19 vaccines that is in this country.

Meanwhile, Chief Medical Officer Dr. Roshan Parasram said there has been a slight uptick in paediatric cases at hospital and they will continue to monitor those numbers.

Seven out of eight children at hospital are below the age of 12, while one patient falls within within the the 12-18 age group.
