Mohammed Hafeez Retires From International Cricket

Mohammad Hafeez has announced his retirement from international cricket, ending a Pakistan career spanning more than 18 years.

The 41-year-old will still be available for franchise cricket and has recently signed with Lahore Qalandars for the upcoming edition of the Pakistan Super League.

While he had initially announced that the 2020 T20 World Cup would be his final assignment for Pakistan, the tournament was pushed to 2021 because of the Covid-19 pandemic, and Hafeez ended up extending his time with Pakistan.

He played 55 Tests, 218 One Dayers and 119 T20s, amassing 12,780 runs across formats, and finished with 32 Player-of-the-Match awards,
He has been one of the best for his country in the short format white ball game scoring 2,514 runs in his 119 games only current captain Babar Azam has scored more
He is the only Pakistani to have played in all but one T20 World Cup and holds the Pakistan record for most T20 World Cup appearances.
