T&T’s Nicholas Paul completed the Sprint triple crown with victory in the Men’s Sprint on the final day of the Elite Pan American Track Cycling Championships in Lima, Peru.
Teniel Campbell was also in winner’s row and completed a full set of podium positions.
Paul followed up triumphs in the Team Sprint alongside Kwesi Browne and Zion Pulido and the Men’s Keirin six-lap ride with the hat-trick win last evening.
Paul defeated UCI World Cycling Centre teammate Jair Tjon En Fa in straight rides to end the championships atop the podium once more.
And Campbell added Gold in the Women’s Points race, finishing on 30 – three ahead of Amber Joseph of Barbados. Canada’s Sarah Van Dam was third.
Campbell’s win added to her 3 Kilometre Individual Pursuit Silver, and Bronze in the Elimination Race and this country’s best ever performance at the championships.
T&T won four Gold, one Silver, and two Bronze.
