This country may soon receive another 150,000 Pfizer vaccines, as the current stock of 286,000 will expire by month-end.
Health Minister Terrence Deyalsingh says the first of two tranches is expected to arrive before the end of February. He says this comes after talks with US officials and notes that there is no cost attached to the newly-sourced vaccines.
As for the remaining 286,000 doses, the Minister is urging people, especially school children who have not been vaccinated, to do so before it expires.
Mr. Deyalsingh says although the remaining Pfizer vaccines would expire at the end of February, there needs to be a constant stock to allow for vaccinations with Pfizer to continue.
