A Memorandum of Understanding between the Government of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago and the Government of the Republic of India has been signed for Integrated Automated Fruit and Vegetable Processing.
A release from the Ministry of Foreign and Caricom Affairs said the the T&T delegation to the recent Caricom meetings provided fertile ground for a balance of regional collaboration and deepened international partnerships.
The MOU was signed in the margins of the Second CARICOM-India Summit which took place in Georgetown, Guyana on 20th November, 2024.
It will pave the way for the creation of economic and employment opportunities in the field of agro-processing, through the India’s provision, of up to US$1 million in financing and technical assistance to Trinidad and Tobago. The project will be implemented by the Ministry of Agriculture, Land and Fisheries through the National Agricultural Marketing and Development Corporation (NAMDEVCO).
This MOU is a further step towards the deepening of ties and the expansion of the areas of cooperation between Trinidad and Tobago and India
