The Queens Park Savannah turned into Pan Central on Sunday as the National Junior Panorama Finals took place. The Primary and Secondary Schools categories saw need champions taking the title and bragging rights.
Excitement and anticipation filled the air as 12 primary, 10 secondary and 12 twenty one and under junior bands waited eagerly to give it their all.
The Primary Schools were up first. The young pannists showing skill and passion as they run through their arrangements.
In the end a new Primary school champion was crowned. San Fernando Boys’ RC accumulated 270 points with their tribute of The Mighty Shadow’s hit “Dingolay”. St Margaret’s Boys’ Anglican placed 2nd with 268 points with their arrangment of Mical Teja’s “DNA” and in third place was Febeau Government Primary School earning 257 points with another Mical Teja hit “RunAway”.
In the Secondary school category.
One point separated the first and second places. Bishop Anstey & Trinity College East just clinched the top spot earning 267 points with their arrangement of “Trinidad Sweet”. There was a tie for 2nd place between Naparima Combined and St Francois Girls’ College. each earning 266 points. and in 4th place was CIC & St Joseph’s Convent PoS, with Farmer Nappy’s “How Ah Living”.
