National Security Minister, Fitzgerald Hinds, says his Ministry is working hard to deal with the number of illegal weapons in the country.
Speaking on i95.5 FM’s Eye on Dependency program on Sunday, the Minister noted government is working with the new United States Ambassador, Candace Bond to address the issue.
He indicated a few months ago the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service began destroying over 7,000 confiscated guns.
The Minister added the UK and CARICOM were also involved in a regional plan advisory group to address the problem of illegal guns.
