Nicholas Paul Sizzles In Sprint At UCI World Track Championships In Glasgow

Nicholas Paul breezed into tomorrow’s Men’s Sprint Quarter Final after an impressive day at the UCI World Track Championships in Glasgow.

The one lap world record holder qualified third fastest with a time of 9.529.

The only two faster riders were second placed Mateusz Rudyk of Poland, who returned a time of 9.527, and Dutchman Harrie Lavreysen who qualified first in 9.374.

Against the Netherlands’ eight-time world champion Jeffrey Hoogland in the 1/8th final, Paul was just as good.

Lining up in Heat 3, Paul dumped the Olympic silver medallist out of contention.

Paul is again in action at 7am TT time against Great Britain’s Joseph Truman in the Quarters.
