Nicholas Paul continued to be the standout cyclist for Team Trinidad and Tobago at the UCI Track Nations Cup in Milton, Canada that came to an end today.
Paul was amongst the medals last evening in the men’s Keirin event and the Gasparillo native managed to earn Team Trinidad and Tobago its first medal at the event by claiming Bronze. The winner was Australia’s Matthew Richardson, with German Maximillian Dornbach winning Silver.
In the men’s Sprint qualifying earlier today, Paul set the fastest time in qualifying with 9.575 seconds, and later he added Sprint Gold to his haul, coming up against Poland’s Matusz Rudyk Paul and taking the best of three rides 2-0 for the top spot.
Compatriot Kwesi Browne made it to the Round of 16 but was unable to advance to the Quarter Finals.
Our lone female representative at the games, Alexi Ramirez, did not advance to the next round of the Women’s Omnium.
