NU Wave Automotive And EPOS Partner To Offer Paid Internships To Graduates

NU Wave Automotive Limited and the East Port of Spain Development Company Limited (EPOS) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding, which will provide paid internships to five deserving graduates.

The UpSkillMe Internship Programme offers graduates the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the automotive industry.

Speaking at the MOU signing on Wednesday, the Chief Executive Officer of NU Wave Automotive, Michael Sealey, highlighted the significance of this paid internship programme.

“Today, I stand here proud to be part of this MOU signing to once again reaffirm our commitment to use this facility as a catalyst for training and development of young persons, not only from East Port of Spain but throughout Trinidad and Tobago.”

Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Adrian Leonce, said five successful graduates from the programmes in automotive services will be offered an internship for a period of one year.

“The UpSkillMe Internship Programme we launch today is not just a partnership; it is a bridge to opportunity, a gateway to prosperity, a promise to the young people of East Port of Spain that we see them, we value them, and we are invested in their future.”

Noting the efforts to advance community transformation, Minister Leonce encouraged students to seize this moment.

“This is your moment. The road ahead will demand work, hard work, discipline, and resilience. However, I am very confident in you. NU Wave is confident in you. The Ministry is confident in you. EPOS is confident in you. We believe in you, and we are confident that you will do well. We know you will seize this opportunity to shine.”

A former beneficiary of the programme, Roquasha Solomon, shared her experience with incoming students.

“Reflecting on this experience, we can say without a doubt that this programme would be highly recommended to anyone, particularly young women who aren’t afraid to get their hands dirty and pursue a career in a hands-on trade like this one.”

Using this collaboration as an example, Minister Leonce called on the public and private sectors to invest in communities.
