The Office of Disaster Preparedness and Management (ODPM) says it continues to monitor ongoing reports of hazard impacts and provide support to the Disaster Management Units of the various Municipal Corporations under the Ministry of Rural Development and Local Government, TEMA, and other agencies.
This follows reports of downed trees and blown off roofs in several areas across the country.
Residents of Diamond Vale in Diego Martin have been circulating a video of fallen trees in a park in the area. In its latest update, the ODPM says they also received a report of a blown off roof at Factory Road in Diego Martin.
In Port of Spain, there was a report of a collapsed house at Oxford Street. The ODPM also received one report of fallen trees along the Lady Young Road in Morvant, along with two reports of blown off roofs in Mon Repos, Cocoa Road, and De-Norigea Street.
In Laventille, there was:
– One report of a blown off roof at Stevenville Map Lands.
– One report of a fallen tree at Sandy Trace, Upper St Barbs Road.
– One report of a fallen utility pole at Prizgar Lands.
There were numerous reports of street flooding in Penal and San Francique, South Trinidad.
