Parents Urged To Monitor Children’s Social Media Use

The Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) is asking parents to monitor their children’s social media usage on Facebook Marketplace, Grindr, and other dating apps.

WPCl Leslie-Ann Bacquain of the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service said the key in protecting your child is practicing online security.

According to WPC Bacquain, the TTPS currently works with the National Centre for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC), a foreign platform for exploited children.

To raise awareness about this issue, the TTPS organises caravans that visit schools and businesses to conduct lectures on online safety for children.
