The Blanchisseuse Road is the latest road network to benefit from the Ministry of Works and Transport’s Road Infrastructure Project.
On Monday, workers continued to pave a portion of the 35-kilometre roadway.
Minister of Works and Transport Rohan Sinanan admitted it will take some time to upgrade and pave the Blanchisseuse Road. He said this will be done in phases, which will include a major drainage improvement in the area.
MP for Arima, Pennelope Beckles, thanked the Ministry of Works and Transport for addressing the drainage issues along the roadway.
Work started from the Arima Bypass approximately three years ago.
While they have reached the 16 kilometre mark, the Ministry hopes to complete 20 kilometres during the current financial year.
