Permanent Status For 257 T&TEC Employees

Over 200 ‘temporary’ employees of T&TEC will soon have their status changed to ‘permanent.’

The announcement was made by Public Utilities Minister Marvin Gonzales during a short Award and Recognition Ceremony for workers on Thursday.

The Minister said some of the temporary staff have been in the role for up to 13 years and the Commission felt the need to ensure such workers have a steady employment status.

The Minister said while increased salaries are not yet on the cards for workers, he urged all T&TEC staff to bear with the Commission.
