Persons Who Cannot Afford Property Tax Payment Can Apply For Deferral

There is a provision in the law which caters to those who genuinely cannot pay Property Tax.

The revelation was made by Finance Minister, Colm Imbert, as he opened the Budget Debate in the Senate on Friday.

The Minister explained that those persons would have to make an application that would have them deferred.

During his presentation, the Finance Minister also took the time to clear up some confusion surrounding the Property Tax.

The Finance Minister reiterated his Ministry’s expectation that at least 50% of property owners would be required to pay Property Tax in the range of $500 to $1,100 per year, or between $42 and $92 per month.
