Minister of National Development and Youth Service, Foster Cummings says he is no longer involved in his family’s business Pical Services Limited.
Last week at the Monday Night Forum hosted by the United National Congress, Political Leader, Kamla Persad-Bissessar asked Minister Cummings to clear the air on what interest Pical Services has with Caroni lands and property at Exchange, Couva.
Minister Cummings says there is no arrangement as is being suggested by the Opposition Leader, that is not above board. He says he came into politics as an already established businessman and he left that career to give his time to the development of the country’s young people.
The Member of Parliament for La Horquetta/Talparo questions why the Opposition Leader has singled out Pical Services Limited when several other contracting companies also have businesses on lands that once belonged to Caroni 1975 Limited.
He says there is only one difference in terms of the business owned by his family and the other contracting firms, and says, unfortunately, there are still some people who do not subscribe to the words of the anthem “let every creed and race find an equal place”.
