Minister of Health, Terrence Deyalsingh, said he has noticed a slight plateau in the number of COVID-19 cases at the Intensive Care Unit.
Speaking during Monday’s COVID-19 Health Update, Minister Deyalsingh said the Ministry has decided to expand its step down facilities to transition patients from the High Dependency and Intensive Care Units. Minister Deyalsingh said the step down facilities also provide some level of oxygen support, adding that 115 additional oxygen concentrators will be distributed among the five Regional Health Authorities.
Minister Deyalsingh also confirmed a slight decline in overall occupancy, stating that hospital occupancy is currently at 69%.
