PNM Candidates Emphasise Progress, Stability, And Economic Growth

The People’s National Movement (PNM) is a party that grows and improves with the times, always ready to give the most to the advancement of T&T.

That’s the thinking of the candidate for Diego Martin Central, Symon de Nobriga, as he pointed to the progressive attitude embodied in his party. He was addressing a PNM political meeting in Diego Martin on Wednesday night.

“We will evolve while we’re still here. We have a Political Leader who, as Prime Minister, said it is time to hand over the reins to the next generation. A generation that has been trained by him and by senior members of our party. A generation who has had an amazing example to pattern themselves after. A generation who understands what hard work is because we see it.”

The candidate for Diego Martin North East, Colm Imbert, challenged the claims of the UNC that the management of the economy in the past nine years has been poor. He made his point with reference to international financial commentary on T&T.

“This is the 2024 IMF article four concluding statement. Trinidad And Tobago is in the midst of a sustained economic recovery. That’s what it says. That’s what it says. With low inflation and good fiscal balance, there’s nothing in there about the worst performing economy.”

PNM Political Leader Dr. Keith Rowley addressed followers at the political meeting with a strong recommendation of the young candidate who replaces him in the election race.

“As I move out, after decades of public service, you could not have found a more appropriate young man to represent Diego Martin West than Hans Des Vignes. Qualified, energetic, and eager to serve the people of the community of which he’s a part. So tonight in his schoolyard, I want to say to Diego Martin West and the Diego Martin community, we know exactly why our campaign says, We red as you are red. We’re ready as we have been, and we are responsible for this country.”

Dr. Rowley noted that despite overarching problems such as the COVID-19 pandemic, the T&T economy has come through intact and is still on the road to great developmental growth.
