The People’s National Movement (PNM) conducted a rigorous screening exercise at Balisier House on Monday where 13 candidates were selected as prospective standard bearers for the 2025 General Election.

Twenty one nominees from 14 constituencies presented themselves before the respective Constituency Executive and the party’s Screening Committee headed by Political Leader, Prime Minister Dr. Keith Rowley.

The majority of the incumbents were selected as prospective candidates, including Dr. Nyan Gadsby-Dolly, Kennedy Richards Jnr, Roger Monroe, Faris Al-Rawi, Brian Manning, Pennelope Beckles-Robinson, Foster Cummings, Camille Robinson-Regis, Lisa Morris-Julian, Marvin Gonzales, Esmond Forde, and Terrence Deyalsingh.

“I am so grateful, so grateful to Jehovah God for His continued guidance and protection along the way. It has not been an easy road.”

Prospective candidate for San Fernando West seat, Faris Al-Rawi shared his thoughts following his screening session.

“I thank the Screening Committee and the Prime Minister for giving me a lovely screening. It was direct, there were no punches pulled inside of a screening process. It was good, and we’re on about winning an election. So, I wish to thank my executive, it was a unanimous position put forward and looking forward to rubber hitting the road.”

Prospective candidate for St. Ann’s East Dr. Nyan Gadsby-Dolly reaffirmed her commitment to her constituents, expressing gratitude for the unanimous support she received.

“I feel happy that the mandate was given to me again, validated by my constituents and my executive. I mean, we did a lot of hard work and I am happy and thankful to be able to continue that work with St. Ann’s East.”

The PNM now has 32 Prospective Candidates out on the field.

The party has called for nominations for the constituencies of Tobago East and Tobago West, and has reopened nominations for La Brea and Laventille East/Morvant.
