Several suspects were arrested and firearms, a quantity of ammunition
and drugs seized during exercises conducted across police divisions over this weekend.
While conducting anti-crime exercises along the Calcutta number 3, Mc Bean road, at an unoccupied piece of land on Saturday, officers discovered a black plastic bag under a heap of grass containing a firearm.
One suspect was arrested in Tobago, following a search warrant for a Firearm and Ammunition at a home in Plymouth. During the exercise, officers discovered a Glock 19 Pistol and 14 rounds of 9 mm ammunition.
And officers of the Morvant Police Station went to 7th Avenue Malick, Barataria where a search of an unoccupied parcel of land was conducted. A black plastic bag containing 251 grams of marijuana was found and seized.
No one was arrested with the find.
In a separate exercise Northern Division officers recovered a .38 special revolver when they conducted anti-crime exercises between Friday to Saturday in the Malabar area.))
In the Port of Spain Division, officers apprehended a
male resident of Duncan Street, Port of Spain on Outstanding Affiliation Warrants in the sum of $84,000. He was conveyed to the Morvant Police Station where he is assisting officers with further investigations.
