Presentation College, Chaguanas is hoping to send its Robotic team to Singapore in October to compete in the FIRST Global Robotics Challenge 2023.
School Teacher Tricia Singh said the former team won the environmental challenge during the previous competition.
She is hopeful the new team can defend the title, and win in the other two categories.
Ms. Singh said the new team is very enthusiastic to attack the challenge, and are working together very well.
While many of them have experienced the Lego League, the upcoming competition is bigger as the students have to assemble the parts, build the robots, and programme them to complete a task.
Captain of the team Nikhil Dilchan said he and his team-mates look forward to dominating this year’s competition.
Students will learn important lessons in the competition such as friendship, teamwork, cooperation, and problem solving skills.
The school is encouraging corporate sponsors and others to come forward to send the students to Singapore.
