President Christine Kangaloo will feature as the Chief Guest (virtually) at the 18th Pravasi Bharatiya Divas Convention 2025, being held in India.
This was confirmed by an official at the Indian High Commission to Trinidad and Tobago.
The Convention is a flagship event of the Government of India that provides an important platform to connect and engage with the Indian diaspora and enable them to interact with each other.
In a post to Facebook, the Indian High Commission stated that this is a landmark development in the bilateral relations between India and Trinidad and Tobago.
The 18th Convention is being organised in partnership with the State Government of Odisha from January 8th to the 10th in Bhubaneswar.
The Ministry of External Affairs in India stated that the Convention will be inaugurated by India’s Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, on January 9th and will feature a virtual address by Chief Guest, Her Excellency Christine Carla Kangaloo, President of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago.
