A call to hold fast to what is good and positive in the fight to relieve ourselves of negative downward influences. It comes from Prime Minister Dr. Keith Rowley as Trinidad and Tobago celebrates 47 years as a republic.
In his Republic Day message Dr. Rowley says while there remain, menacing issues such as crime and violence… there are recent events which should bring us all moments of pride and jubilation.
Among those he lists… Trinidad and Tobago assuming the Presidency of the General Assembly of the United Nations.
He points to government’s signing of an historic, inter-institutional agreement with Venezuela, which will promote joint projects in the Dragon field.
Prime Minister Rowley acknowledged the outstanding performance of our athletes at the Commonwealth Youth Games which we hosted. He praised both swimmer Nikoli Blackman and cyclist Nicholas Paul for their most recent achievements.
