The power of the Arts to re-tool prisoners for life has been acknowledged globally as a way to rehabilitate these inmates.
So says Acting Commissioner of Prisons, Deopersad Ramoutar, as he addressed the attendees of their 11th Annual Art Exhibit.
He said engaging in creative works has given the inmates a sense of self confidence and helped them to develop purpose and empowerment as is the goal of the programme.
The exhibit started on Wednesday at the National Library and Information System (NALIS). It ends on June 15th.
