Procurement Bill Goes To The Senate

As the debate on the Public Procurement bill continued Thursday in the Senate, Minister of Finance, Colm Imbert reiterated that the amendments would introduce flexibility so that the flaws in the legislation and regulations can be corrected in a simplified manner.

Amendments to the Public Procurement and Disposal of Public Property Bill 2023 were passed with a majority vote in the House of Representatives on Wednesday night.

And even as the Opposition and the business sector are not in agreement with the amendments to the Bill, Minister Imbert said there will always be the need for exemptions.
