Queen’s Park Cricket Club (QPCC) won the Women’s Football 7s Tournament at the Queen’s Park Oval on Sunday.
QPCC’s women opened with a 5-2 win over COFA followed with a tight 1-0 win over Club Sando.
Police FC held the hosts to a 1-1 draw as both teams went into the knock out round unbeaten on seven points.
QPCC beat COFA 3-0 to advance to the Final while Police earned their spot by default.
But another well matched contest saw Queen’s Park taking top spot with a 1-0 in the Final.
Police’s Anastasia Prescott was named tournament MVP, her teammate, Shurella Mendez, scored the most goals. Club Sando’s Keshawna Noel won the Golden Glove.
The Tournament is held annually to bring awareness to cancer in women and in aid of the Score 4 Cancer Fund, the St. James Cancer Unit for Women, the Just Because Foundation. and individuals within the national community.
