Questions On Road Collapse At Mosquito Creek

Strong words from the President of the Debe to Point Fortin Highway Action Committee, Edward Moody, regarding the planning for the South Trunk Road which collapsed in the Mosquito Creek area on January 2nd.

He said the foundation for the wall keeping out the sea is weak. Mr. Moody is also questioning the CEC which was done originally, saying it has caused an environmental nightmare.

He added that the fish that normally go into the mangrove to spawn have unable to do so for some time now and this has negatively affected fishing. He is begging the authorities to make the needed changes.

Works and Transport Minister Rohan Sinanan said in Parliament Tuesday that the South Trunk Road poses no threat to commuters, despite the road collapse on January 2nd.
