Red Force Vs Scorpions Abandoned Due To Rain

The CG United Regional Super 50 comes down to its penultimate week, with the home side in action today at the Queen’s Park Oval.

There were some heavy clouds hovering around but that did not delay the Jamaica Scorpions from batting first. They faced a shortened 48 overs, tallying 213 for 9. Nkruma Bonner top scored with 74 and captain Rovman Powell had 48. In the bowling department, Sunil Narine grabbed 3 for 30, Akeal Hosein took 3 for 34, while Shannon Gabriel and Yannic Cariah shared one wicket a piece.

The rains poured early afternoon and the covers never came off leading the game to be declared as abandoned.

T&T still hold the top spot in the standings on 37 points with Barbados second on 36.

The Red Force’s next fixture is a top of the table clash with Barbados on Sunday at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy, start time 1pm.
