Right Here – Maracas Waterfall

San Jose or, Saint Joseph, was the seat of government and our first capital during the Spanish occupation of Trinidad. Many communities were established along the Saint Joseph River, the lifeblood of the colonial settlements, that runs through almost the entirety of the Maracas Valley. Tracing one of the many water-courses that joins the St. Joseph River will lead one along the aptly named Waterfall Road, and eventually, on foot of course, to the highest waterfall in the country.
