Prime Minister Dr. Keith Rowley is assuring that the deplorable road conditions throughout is being given priority and said Government will bring them to a standard that is acceptable.
Speaking in Palo Seco on Friday evening, Dr. Rowley apologised to the national community, saying the road network was not a major priority during 2015 to 2022, with the country being in a difficult financial state. But since then, he said Government is now in a position to undertake more programmes with regard to road rehabilitation.
Meanwhile Works Minister Rohan Sinanan on Friday indicated that the rehabilitation of roads across the country had nothing to do with impending elections, noting this is the Ministry’s continuous programme to fix roads across the country.
The Prime Minister also assured that the Government has re-engaged in a secondary road programme to address these concerns.
