‘Salvatori. Un Corsu A Trinidad’ Book Launch

Rawkus chats with Creative Industries Specialist Lorraine O’Connor about the upcoming launch of her book Salvatori. Un Corsu A Trinidad.

ABOUT THE BOOK: Joseph Salvatori left Corsica in the late 1800s to travel to the Americas with no more than 35 francs to his name. He went on to build a vast business empire that included the largest department store in the Caribbean and had a life of such consequence that Charles de Gaulle acknowledged him in his memoirs.

Salvatori. Un Corsu A Trinidad, intimately pieces together his life story from surviving oral histories, and from research unearthed at archives nestled in London, Paris, Corsica, the United States, and Trinidad and Tobago.
