There will be normal operations at schools throughout the country on Carnival Monday and Tuesday this year.
According to the Ministry of Education, Carnival Monday and Tuesday were granted as Official School Holidays in the past due to the annual street parade.
The Ministry says the current Public Health Ordinance limits gathering so this negates the need to render schools closed on these two days.
The Ministry is advising that schools are to conduct normal operations on Monday February, 28th and Tuesday March, 1st 2022.
Should there be the need to deviate from the approved timetable, principals must get approval from the Chief Education Officer.
Meanwhile, Tobago’s Division of Education, Research and Technology says principals, teachers and students will have face-to-face and virtual teaching and learning on Monday February, 28th and Tuesday March, 1st.
Tobago’s Carnival Celebrations have been deferred to October 2022.
