Seven New Tenants At Milford Road Esplanade

The Milford Road Esplanade will have seven additional tenants.

On Tuesday, a Key Handover Ceremony was held at the Division of Finance, where the new tenants were welcomed.

Chairman Kevon Mc Kenna said the Esplanade’s Board has been working assiduously to increase economic activity at the space and provide a variety of options for locals and tourists.

“It is becoming what it is supposed to be, a tourism hub. Soon, we will be meeting with the President of the Taxi Association and even the Hotel Association to make the Esplanade the end point after you done do your tours, you drop the tourists there and they will come and lime and that is important. That is why we keep saying variety and not the same type of tenants so that when tourists come there are things to do.”

Secretary of Finance, Petal Ann Roberts, urged the new tenants to be consistent, innovative, and disciplined.

“Let us give them something to want to return to Tobago. Let us wow the world. The world is now, we are not cut off. It is a global village now everybody knows everything. I want you to understand that we are now part of a global village, and you play a very, very serious and pivotal role in the economy of Tobago.”

Secretary Roberts hinted at plans to rename the Milford Road Esplanade ‘the Scarborough Esplanade.’

Additional works are also expected in 2025, including refurbishments to the rotunda and installation of additional seating and lighting fixtures.
