SOE To End On April 13th

The current State of Emergency will come to an end on April 13th. This was confirmed by Minister of National Security, Marvin Gonzales.

The National Security Minister on Saturday chaired a high level Update Briefing of the National Security Inter Agency Operations Leadership Team.

During the meeting, the Minister received a comprehensive update on the effectiveness of current measures, resources deployed and coordination and collaboration efforts by the divisions and agencies. The Minister assured that as the State of Emergency approaches its end, government remains committed to upholding law and order.

TTT News caught up with Minister Gonzales, the PNM’s candidate for Arouca/Lopinot on Sunday morning, as he was preparing to hike to St. Michael Road with members of the Arouca/Lopinot Youth League.

“It’s not unfamiliar territory for me, I went so far and I’ve met a number of persons in national security and a number of them are quite familiar to me because I would have been in national security in some part of my life and some of those people who I worked with many years ago they are now in leadership in national security so the learning curve will not be as difficult as some may think”
