The Solar Park at the Piarco International Airport has been operational for the last two months.
The Airports Authority in collaboration with the European Union (EU) turned the sod for the solar park in July 2022 for the installation of a 0.5 megawatt Solar Park.
Works and Transport Minister, Rohan Sinanan told reporters the Official Commissioning of the solar park will take place soon, but said it has been working well and will reduce the airport’s consumption of electricity by up to 30%.
