As the world celebrated International Day of the Girl Child on Tuesday, this Non-Governmental Organisation with support from Scotiabank and other agencies played their part in motivating young women.
Trinidad and Tobago’s Miss Universe, Tya Jane Ramey, presenting the keynote address encouraged the girls to find their agency or take ownership of their lives.
British High Commission International Gender Envoy, Alicia Herbert, urged the ladies to remain focused but allow themselves to make mistakes, while Tobago House of Assembly Youth Director, Ann Marie De Gazon, implored them to create their own stories.
The young women engaged in art and interactive activities aimed at assisting them to find their identity and voices.
