A spelling error on the newly installed ‘Welcome to Morvant Laventille’ sign has been corrected at no additional cost to the East Port of Spain Development Company Limited (EPOS).
The sign, which was unveiled on Wednesday at the Lady Young Road and Morvant intersection, is part of the Beautification and Infrastructure Development (BID) Project.
The installation had been delayed due to ongoing roadworks in the area, and it was the final sign placed under this initiative. However, after its unveiling, an error in the sign’s spelling—originating from the manufacturer—was discovered. EPOS confirmed that the mock-ups provided before production did not contain any mistakes, and the manufacturer rectified the issue at their own expense.
The company said it continues to lead several infrastructure and social development initiatives, including the Community-Based Sustainable Water Management Programme, the Latrine Eradication Programme, Steps Rehabilitation, and the construction of modernised panyards.
In addition to physical improvements, EPOS also provides economic and skills development programmes.
